Christopher C. Carter is a founding partner of Reed Carter, PLLC. Chris represents individuals and business in a variety of matters.  He has provided counseling and advice on topics ranging from entity formation, business and contract issues, employment related issues, and insurance law.  When problems arise and court is necessary, Chris can draw on his ample litigation experience to zealously represent his clients in court.  No problem or issue is too large or too small.  Chris prides himself on being able to find workable and common-sense solutions for legal and business problems.

The son of a cotton farmer, Chris grew up on the plains of West Texas where he attended Tahoka High School. He earned a bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Texas Tech University in 1995. After spending time as a probation officer, Chris realized his dream of attending law school.  He earned his law degree from South Texas College of Law in 2001. Throughout law school Chris was an active competitor in mock trial competitions and was a member of the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Fraternity.  After law school, Chris stayed in Houston and joined a small litigation boutique. There, his practice was focused on, commercial litigation, construction litigation, corporate law, family law and employment law

In 2003, Chris and his family relocated to Dallas, Texas, where he continued his representation of individuals and small and medium-sized businesses.  Since leaving law school, Chris has narrowed his practice to the representation of companies in the construction business.  His focus has included the representation of general contractors and subcontractors in various construction related disputes, including contract negotiations, lien and bond claims, construction defect claims, and delay claims.  Chris’ practice has also included professional liability defense of architects and engineers.

Chris and his wife Betty have two children, Kaitlyn and Garret. The Carters’ reside in Allen, Texas.  When not practicing law, Chris enjoys spending time with his family and attending his children’s sporting events.  He also enjoys playing golf.
