This Veteran's Day

November 12, 2018

To all our veterans on this Veteran’s Day…

Thank you.

To those who left behind the comforts of home and families, who went to foreign shores to fight the foes of liberty, who scan the horizons on distant seas for our enemies, who stand as sentinels for our freedoms.

Thank you.

To the families who long only to embrace their loved ones again, who count the days until they come home, who support them with letters and care packages and prayers.

Thank you.

To those who came home and work and live amongst us, who left behind their warrior lives to be teachers and police officers and doctors and janitors and construction workers and every other facet of our lives.

Thank you.

For those who made the ultimate sacrifice, who sleep now around the world, silent testaments to their courageous commitment to us.

Thank you.

At Reed Carter, we are immensely grateful to the men and women of our armed forces. Thank you for your sacrifice and for your service to our families and our nation.

As President Eisenhower said in the first Veteran’s Day Proclamation, “let us solemnly remember the sacrifices of all those who fought so valiantly, on the seas, in the air, and on foreign shores, to preserve our heritage of freedom, and let us reconsecrate ourselves to the task of promoting an enduring peace so that their efforts shall not have been in vain.”
